The Oreon Software Center provides a user-friendly graphical interface for managing software on your system. Under the hood, it utilizes the system's package manager (dnf) and integrates with other packaging formats like Flatpak.

Installing Applications

Installing software through the Software Center is straightforward:

Installation Process

  1. Select an application from browse or search
  2. Review the application details page
  3. Click the "Install" button
  4. Enter your password when prompted
  5. Wait for download and installation to complete

What Happens

  • Dependencies are automatically resolved
  • Progress indicator shows download status
  • Application appears in your menu when complete
  • Desktop shortcuts may be created

Managing Installed Applications

The "Installed" section lists all applications currently on your system that are managed by the package manager or Flatpak. From here you can:
